So about three weeks ago I got to leave work early (after having been there nearly 14 hours the day before, but I'm not going to go there), and I came out to find the alarm going off in a most pitiful way and the battery nearly dead. Now considering that I drive a Prius and pretty much everything in the car runs off the electrical system, the fact that the battery was dying is pretty significant. So after much difficulty and a whole lot of time, I finally got my car towed to the shop just in time for them to close for the day. The next morning I got a call saying that one of (yes, the car has not one, but two batteries!) batteries was dead and needed to be replaced. There were also several filters which needed to be replaced (I already knew about those), and the maintenance light was on indicating that I needed an oil change (I already knew about that, too). Oh, and they were running a special on the oil change, so did I want them to go ahead and take care of that in addition to the battery and the filters. Yes, *sigh*, that's fine. What's another twenty bucks at this point? And then it hit me about two hours later when the fog cleared from my sleep-deprived head... crap! I was supposed to be doing the oil change myself! For the list (#58)! *insert many expletives here* And because I drive a Prius, the oil only needs to be changed every six months! So the next time it's due will be after my project ends!! *bleep, bleep, bleep!*
So now I won't be able to cross this off the list. I haven't decided what to do about it yet. Whether I am going to replace it with something else or just let it go. Since it's so late in the game, I am inclined to let it go, but I'm just irritated with myself. Grrrr.
Yea that is too bad about the oil change. I know it would be early but could you wait until the last minute in terms of the blog and change it anyway?
