I am very excited! Today I got an e-mail with a list of Butler's cultural events for the Spring semester. One thing they offer every year is their Visiting Writers Series where they invite authors from all genres to come speak on campus. They have eight different authors lined up for this semester, and the great thing is that they're free and open to the public. So imagine my surprise when I glanced through the list and saw Richard Russo, author of Empire Falls, on the schedule for April 12! To jog your collective memories, Empire Falls is on my list of books to read for item #66 on the list. I had actually purchased it during on of my recent buying spress at Half Price Books, so I figured I would end up reading it sooner rather than later just out of convenience. Now, of course, I want to make sure I get it read in the next couple of months so I can go hear him speak having already read the book. What timing! Now I just hope I don't end up hating it.

This blog will focus on my journey to complete 101 things in 1001 days. My first list ended in 2013 and while I didn't complete every item, I managed to accomplish some things, develop a few good habits, and learn a few things about myself. A little time has passed, and I'm ready to jump into this one more time. Once again I've tried to come up with a list that will challenge me as well as help bring a little fun into my life! Start date: April 5, 2015... here we go!
You are right that is great timing! I really hope you like that book also!
